Fun at Camp

I really enjoyed the camp because of its games, the food, and the activites. We played many games, like: Splat, Stuck in the Mud, volleyball with balloons, and other fun games. I liked very much Splat, I think I am the best at it. I played a lot of games with some persons: Emily, Sam, Sam, Jonathon, Isabel, and Kris. They were very good with all of us, I think Emily was the best, she was cool and friendly.

The activities were awesome. We made a gold detector and a wagon. We sand around the fire and we take a lot of crazy photos. The most strange photo was one that girls were dressed like boys and boys like girls! We also had to sell the wagon and the gold seeker. Then we acted a little act. Everyone think that we did well. They gave us a golden nugget. I believe my team (with Emily as the leader) will win.

Activities

I enjoyed lots of things at camp. One was the photographs. We had to take some photographs doing the things a paper told us to do. One photo was of girls dress as boys, and boys dressed as girls, it was so funny. Another photo we had to pick Sam up, we made one doing a pyramid. I was in the bottom. I was falling and had everyone’s weight. Camp was amazing, I wish it could be longer. We saw the photos of every group at night in the cineroom. Most people liked the photos of girls dressed as boys and boys dressed as girls, it was awesome.

I enjoyed playing baseball and waterball, they were great. I also enjoyed dancing, they teach us to dance some dances, they were great, but very funny. Waterball was cool because it was like volleyball but with water balloons and some blankets. My group was divided but the team I was won 5-7. Once the balloon went to the air and splashed in Catalina’s head, she got all wet. In baseball I don’t remember who won, but my group did 4 outs to the other.

The Jobs

I really enjoyed this trip. We did a lot of different activities. I have to work like a bank teller, we have great fun. We had to create our own bank. Our work was to change pesos to dollars and with the dollars we bought American sweets. The group really liked the job, because we like doing this kind of job. Other children did different jobs like sports assistants, they had to teach us some kind of sports. Some kids worked as waiters, they brought our food at dinner or lunchtime. And I think the last work was entertainers. When we eat they sang songs like Clementine and she will come around the mountain. Yesterday we had a campfire and we sing songs and dance.

The Green Team's Favorite Things

The meals we liked the most were the fried chicken and the pancakes, both come from the US. Our favourite games were water balloon volleyball, Mingle, British Bulldog, and Splat. They’re very funny. We also liked the nature and countryside, it’s very beautiful. Another great time was the campfire, we sang a lot and we enjoyed it. We would love to come again. – it’s a wonderful camp.

My Job!

I really enjoy my job. I was a waitress, and an entertainer, because I really like to sing and the songs were excellent! Also we do a little act to present the food that was Shepherd’s Pie. Before that we sing a song called “Clementine” that was very cool. After the song we present the dinner and after dinner we sung “She’ll be coming right the mountain.” That was very funny. The rehersal was excellent, we practiced like 4 times. Juanita play the guitar, Alexia act with Lulu. They act the son it was really sad but their acting was very funny. When we finish Isabel gave us Skittles.

Waterball!

When we finish playing baseball, we play waterball. It was amazing! I was in Emily’s group. We had to throw a balloon with water inside to the other side of the net and the other group have to catch it but if you don’t, you and all the group get wet. That was the best part. The person that get really, really wet. The balloon splash on her so she got really wet. Her cloth is still wet.

Carcaraes

I have come to Carcaraes to do better my English. There are some people from Australia, England to make better our English and do some games too! The games I like were water balloon volleyball, football, photos, and acting. At night we made parties. The people of other countries call: Emily, who was the best, Sam, Sam, Kris, Jonathan, and Isabel.

The Camp Experience

We are Alexia and Juana. In school this year we are finishing primary school and we pass to the high school, a new year. Secondary is more difficult we have to study more and concentrate more. We try to work harder. For this we triped to Santa Fe (Carcaraes). This is more or less what we try to talk about.

Carcaraes is a wonderful place. We played many games like: Mingle, Splat, water balloon volleyball, etc. We had to speak English all the day, we had counselors that are with us. We ate English food (delicious). The first day we made a campfire. It was fabulous, because we sang, we danced.

Gold nuggets are pieces of gold that the counselors give us if we speak in English, if not, they take some pieces of gold.

The Food

I’m going to talk about the food. The food of here are of all the people that live in countries that speak in English. The food is very different comparing to ours. They eat things that I don’t know or that I know but sometimes are things that I know but haven’t eaten.

The food that it was best. For me it was fried chicken. In the breakfast we eat toasts, cereals and pancakes, we drink coffee, nesquik. In the lunch we sandwiches of meat and the other of cheese and ham. We eat in the dinner fried chicken and shepherds pie.

We play a lot of games: Splat, Stuck in the Mud, British Bulldogs, and also soccer. At the night all the children get out of his rooms and went another’s room. We do so much mess so the teachers sit on a chair out of our rooms. Late we play volleyball with balloons with water inside and with a sheet we throw it out. It was fantastic!

I have enjoyed the camp a lot. At first it was a little bit hard to speak in English all the time, but then it started to be easier. I loved the exercises we have done about the Gold Rush, they were very interesting. The food was delicious. Some foods that I didn’t like I started to like them, in my case cheese! Every time we speak in Spanish the counselors take a gold nugget. For win a gold nugget you have to speak in English, behave well, and respect your counselors. The counselors can be of England, Australia, or United States. Sam, our counselor, is from Australia. Every breakfast, lunch, and dinner we counted how many gold nuggets we had. We also were in a job, there were many kinds of different jobs like, sport assistant, shop assistant, reporter. It’s a great camp.
